Alex Oliver Associates successfully obtained Planning and Listed Building Consent for the sensitive conversion of a Grade II listed Social Club into residential accommodation, alongside the creation of a courtyard of family homes on the site.
This project showcased our expertise in architectural design, planning consultancy, and historic building consultancy. Our work included detailed historical research to understand and celebrate the site's heritage, with the remaining structures dating back over 260 years. Located at the gateway to the town, these buildings are a significant part of the local heritage.
The development aims to protect and restore the listed buildings, ensuring their future through an appropriate and sustainable new use. The proposed new-build homes complement the historic architecture, with a thoughtfully selected palette of materials designed to reflect the area's vernacular style and enhance local distinctiveness.
This project exemplifies our commitment to blending conservation with thoughtful design, creating a scheme that respects the past while embracing future needs.
