Salisbury Market Place

The masterplan proposals for the re-ordering and landscaping of historic social spaces in Salisbury city centre aim to rejuvenate the marketplace and Memorial Square, which are adjacent and interconnected. Over time, the marketplace had suffered from visual decline and clutter due to the accumulation of fixed and temporary street furniture. The proposed re-organization seeks to declutter and simplify these spaces, removing unnecessary and unattractive elements to restore their aesthetic appeal.

Landscaping and the introduction of new public facilities are key components of the plan, designed to enhance the functionality and visual coherence of the area. These elements are carefully planned to define the space more clearly and create a more harmonious connection with the surrounding historic buildings and pathways.
